Requirements:
Min 2yr college experience or equivalency based on extensive experience in Metallography or Coating Analyzes / Characterization
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written form.
• Basic computer knowledge / Ability to use standard software packages
Job Description:
Metallographic preparation, evaluation and characterization of powders and coated specimens.
• Potentially perform other coating evaluation/ characterization using erosion tester, Burner rig and Thermal cycling test
• Section, mount, grind and polish specimens
• Perform coating adhesion testing, superficial and micro-hardness tests, surface profilometry tests, SEM/EDX analysis, Optical microscopy incl Image analysis
• Examine, perform measurement, analyze, photomicrograph of prepared, coated specimens
• Collect, collate and report in verbal or written form data as required.
• Perform general maintenance and preventive maintenance of lab areas and equipment as assigned.
• Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards.
• Perform other assigned tasks as they arise as typical for technicians in an engineering laboratory environment.
• Supports the project goals and objectives of the R&D Project Engineers and the Coating Research Lab leader by performing Engineering Technician duties
• Contributes actively to process improvements & Helps to improve safety procedures from technical, hands-on standpoint (gives regular near-miss input to assure safest possible work environment)
