Requirements:
Education: A.S. degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science or ceramic engineering, or equivalent education
Experience: Chemistry/chemical lab experience is a plus. Ceramic processing and corrosion characterization desired but not necessary.
Other Personal Factors: Hands-on, team worker; capable of working independently; Comfortable to work in a chemical lab environment; be able to lift 30 lbs regularly.
Special knowledge, skills or Experience:
Knowledge about chemistry;
Experience desired but not necessary: ceramic powder handling, high temperature furnace, size reduction equipments such as ball mill, attrition mill etc., X-ray diffraction, BET surface area analysis, particle size analysis, microscopy analysis
Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word and Excel

You will assist in the development of materials and processing formulation (electrolyte matrix) and characterization for high-temperature active components
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform (1) ceramic processing, mainly powder blending, milling, characterization, slurry preparation and casting, and analysis of pore structures (2) wet chemistry process development such as mixing, drying, calcinations; (3) prepare test fixtures to characterize matrix for properties such as porosity, pore size distribution and organic loading etc. (4) organize and analyze experimental data. (5) Conduct microscopy analysis on the samples prepared.
